Hi!
I'm Danielle

When I was a child and people used to ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would almost always give 2 answers: first I wanted to be a mom, and second, a “baby doctor.” Throughout my life, my plans and goals have changed but my core values have stayed the same: to raise a loving family, and to serve my community to give babies the best possible start in life.

After high school I attended Bethany Global University where I spent over a year in Chiang Mai, Thailand volunteering in a home for single mothers and their children. After graduating with a B.A. in Intercultural Studies and a certificate in Christian Montessori Education I moved back to Ohio to marry my husband.

When I was pregnant with my oldest child I felt lost. All I wanted was factual, evidence based information about normal physiological pregnancy and childbirth, yet all I was finding in popular books and apps was routines and procedures to expect in the hospital. Thankfully, my midwife (who is also my aunt!) guided me to the evidence based information that I so badly wanted.

My first pregnancy experience gave me the desire to guide, support, educate, and empower other parents so that they are equipped with evidence-based information to make the best decisions for their family. So I became a doula!

I am certified as a birth doula with DONA International, and as a Community Breastfeeding Counselor with The Ohio Parenting Collaborative. While continuing to work as a doula I have also been assisting and training with 3 traditional midwives, based in different communities around central Ohio. I am so excited for what the future holds, and excited to continue supporting families as they welcome their newest members, regardless of what role I may take.

I would love to connect with you over a coffee (my favorite!) or through a video-chat to discuss how I might help you achieve your birth goals. Message me today to set up your free consultation!

Why Vida Birth?

Vida = "life"

When a baby takes their first breath they are welcomed to this beautiful, crazy, messy thing called life. It is such an honor for me to welcome not only a baby to their new life, but also to welcome women, men and children to their new life as mom, dad, and big siblings. I could not think of a better business name than one reflecting the birth of new life, in every sense.
